Michael & I are very grateful and proud to have built our home and small business Sweet Buzz Bean & Bistro in Penn Township and bee part of this awesome community!
In April of 2005, I was running a Marriott hotel in downtown Pittsburgh and Michael was in the United States Army Reserves serving in Afghanistan. Drew, my son, and I were living in downtown Pittsburgh and decided to look for a place to build a house to keep us "busy" while Michael was overseas. In July 2006, Michael came home safely and we moved into our new home in Harrison City, PA. Michael retired from the Army Reserves after 26 years as a Lt Col.
Eight years later December 16, 2014, we hired forty-four local team members and with lots of training help & support from my aunt Pam and mom Bonnie, we opened our Harrison City, PA location. All our recipes have been passed down from our family members. We hope you enjoy them!
We give back to the community by partnering with local no-kill shelters hosting pet adoption and fundraising events. If you are looking for a beautiful rescued fur baby please check out Pet Friends Inc., Irwin, PA, and FurKids Rescue, Pittsburgh, PA. Our outdoor patio is pet friendly!
Since opening in 2014, we offer free coffee or tea and a 20% discount off food to retired and active military, police, fireman, paramedics, and all first responders. We love flying the Red, White & Blue! In 2017, we started offering a discount to all Excella Health essential team members in appreciation of what they do for all of us every day.
Some of our favorite catering jobs have been at the local schools visiting with the amazing teachers. I think the Cover-19 crisis has reminded all of the parents how wonderful teachers really are!
